– Wishing to promote collaboration and empathy

Marta Poniecka is GSGroup’s new Chief Technology Officer.

So what is the main focus for someone who lives and breathes technology? Well, people.

– It is important for me to empower, motivate and share goals with people. We need to row in the same direction. It is about team culture, where everyone can trust each other and challenge each other. We succeed together – therefore it is important to foster cooperation and empathy within teams and between different roles and customers.

Poniecka, who has a master’s degree in systems development, started her role as Head of Technology at the beginning of May. She already has clear ideas about the direction of the organization.

– “I find it exciting how data is changing the world around us. IT systems free up time and provide a better basis for decision-making. Transport and logistics are an important part of our daily lives – the goods in the store, the packages of things we order online – all depend on suppliers having good (and safe) solutions to plan, manage and control their vehicles. There is no limit to what technology can do. GSGroup’s tracking technology also ensures that criminals are caught and held accountable for their actions – it’s awesome.

“Jobs to be done”

“The customer experience is crucial,” says Poniecka, adding that it is important for companies to take on the role of advisor to show customers how we can best help them. You need this and you don’t really need this.

– For our customers, it is important to have a basic understanding of “jobs to be done”. What are their challenges and how can we use our knowledge and understanding of technology to help.

Diversity solves problems

When it comes to technology and how it is used to help people, the importance of diversity comes into play,” says Poniecka.

– “Technology is made for people by people. Everyone comes with different perspectives and backgrounds. Diversity in groups makes it easier to see the problems we are trying to solve from different perspectives and think more holistically.

Poniecka believes that companies that see the value in all parts of the organization, that everyone has important knowledge that needs to be highlighted, are the winners.

– “As a company, we need to work to preserve all the skills of our employees, learn from each other, challenge each other and make time for innovation. Regardless of position, everyone should have a chance to follow real users, ask questions and be curious. It helps us find the right tools for the job and how to optimize our systems for use now and in the future.
