The 2022 report by Larmtjänst has been released and notes that the number of stolen vehicles is decreasing.

At the same time, fewer of the stolen cars are being recovered.

Since 2007, there is a clear trend: the probability of recovering a stolen vehicle decreases every year. On the positive side, fewer cars are being stolen, but thieves seem to have become more efficient at getting away.

In terms of the most difficult cars to recover, new model years are less likely to be found. It is worth noting that the number of vehicles with model year 2023 and 2022 that have not been found is 2 and 27 respectively. The corresponding number for model years 2012-2020 is between 37-98.

What are the statistics for tractors and construction machinery?

Here we see that the likelihood of recovering these objects is low.

The share of construction machinery found last year increased compared to 2021, but still stands at 19%. Looking at the tractor segment, almost 10% fewer were found in 2022 compared to the previous year, reaching 23%.

The number of stolen tractors and construction machinery also increased from the previous year, from 236 to 267.
