Stolen Range Rover Sport found in a parking garage

Share article

A stolen €50,000 Range Rover Sport from 2015 was found in a parking garage in Gothenburg, thanks to the efforts of our dedicated search team and advanced radio technology.

The vehicle was reported stolen from Limhamn, and after receiving the theft report, the search team launched an operation to locate the stolen vehicle. After analyzing the data, they determined that the car had traveled north, providing the basis for an extensive search of the area.

A challenging operation

However, the search proved challenging as the thieves tried to hide the vehicle. Despite this, the team, using radio technology, managed to track the car to a garage outside central Gothenburg.

– Once we had established the position of the vehicle, we immediately contacted the police, who quickly responded to the scene. After confirming the discovery, the stolen Range Rover was seized by the police for further technical investigations, says Per Waldemar Simonsen, Divisional Manager for Fleet and Asset Tracking at GSGroup.

The successful search operation is proof of the growing importance of advanced technology in fighting crime.

– We consistently witness a cat-and-mouse game in these situations. Thieves transport the vehicles a considerable distance and hide them as well as possible to test whether anyone tries to find them again. Our three radio technologies provide a unique ability to search over a wider area and then delineate and provide a precise location. We are proud to once again recover stolen items and thank the police for their excellent cooperation, says Simonsen.
