A Porsche included

When the police stopped the thieves, thanks to GSGroup’s tracking device, they found not just the Porsche they were looking for, but two.

GSGroup’s alarm center received an alarm that a Porsche Macan Turbo 2020, worth SEK 870,000, was stolen in Skåne.

It was quickly suspected that the car was about to leave the country as the tracking device showed that it was at the ferry terminal in Kapellskär where there is a ferry between Sweden and Estonia.

Both Swedish and Estonian police were contacted when they realized that the next ferry was about to leave. Thanks to good and extensive cooperation between GSGroup and both Swedish and foreign police, it was decided that when the ferry reached the Estonian port, all trucks would be stopped and examined.

When the thieves drove off the ferry, they were arrested and the truck was examined. In the cargo they found not only the Porsche Macan Turbo they were looking for, but also a Porsche GT3 worth SEK 1,760,000 that did not have a tracking device installed.

We contacted the owner who luckily got his Porsche GT3 back, even though it had no tracking device.

– It all started when my wife and I saw that the weather would be nice for the coming weekend and decided to go to the country.

We have never had a problem with burglary or similar on our farm before. Why we have been so spared, I believe, is largely due to the fact that there is only one single entrance and exit leading through the entire farm. And it’s not just me who has my house on the farm, two of my relatives also live here, and we always make sure someone is home.

On Sunday afternoon when we were still down in the country, the police called and asked if I was the owner of a Porsche GT3, I replied that yes I am, and when the police said they had found it on a truck in Estonia, I didn’t believe them at first.

I called my relative and asked him to go and check if the car was still in the garage. Outside the garage there was no sign of a break-in, no door was broken and no windows were smashed. But inside the garage there was no car.

When we got home, we realized that they carefully picked out the window pane of one of the doors, jumped in through the hole and then used the emergency latch to open the garage door. After that, the car must have been loaded onto a trailer and covered up, otherwise someone would have caught them as they drove off.

Had the police not found my car on the same truck as the one with the tracker in it, it could easily have been another week before I would have had any business in that garage and discovered that my car was missing.

I am very grateful that the other Porsche owner had been smart enough to install a GSGroup tracking device, and that I was so lucky this time.

When I contacted my insurance company, Länsförsäkringar, I also received fantastic treatment. What to do when your car is stolen and you are in another country could be a bit complicated. But they take care of everything from picking it up to taking it to a Porsche center for inspection and then they bring it home to me.

I will of course get a tracking device from GSGroup now, because you only get this kind of luck once.
