Three people were arrested and the police needed the help of the Danish emergency services to deal with the stolen goods.
When one of GSGroup’s tracking teams started looking for a stolen industrial machine, little did they imagine that the search would lead to the discovery of a gang targeting expensive hand tools.
The paint pump, which had been stolen from a construction site the night before, was equipped with a hidden tracking device and GSGroup’s search team could see it move 140 kilometers – from Esbjerg up the west coast of Jutland.
The signal from the tracking device was localized to a detached house, and the search team was able to confirm the signal, after which the local police were contacted.
The police carry out a search at the address.
Inside the house, they encountered a surprising sight: the industrial machine that had led the search team to the house was surrounded by tools from other thefts.
“There were piles of power tools and gardening equipment everywhere. On tables, sofas and all over the floor. Dewalt, Bosch and Makita are obviously brands that are highly susceptible to theft, says Area Sales Manager, Sune Andersen from GSGroup.
Shortly after the police arrive at the address, a van pulls up outside the house and two men get out. Together with the woman, they are arrested and taken to the police station in Holstebro. The emergency services were then called in to remove the large quantities of tools.
A six-digit amount is involved.
The value of the tools has not yet been confirmed, but Police Commissioner Torben Ladefoged from the local police in Holstebro estimates to TV MIDTVEST that it is a six-digit amount.
It’s really huge, and it’s very rare that we see such large quantities, he says.
Area Sales Manager Sune Andersen from GSGroup emphasizes once again that security CAN pay off.
“We have a very high recovery rate, whether we are talking about vehicles, construction machinery, designer furniture or tools. With over 30 years in the business, we know that the police are very willing to help recover stolen goods.”
